The electrical regulations, BS7671 have been updated. The new ammendment comes into full effect from the 1st January 2012 when all new installation work must be carried out to the latest standard.

One of the major changes if the renaming of the Periodic Inspection Report (PIR's) to Electrical Installation Condition Report. The format of the forms will change and in theory be easier for the lay person to understand. It is hoped that the new report will help standardise the level of inspection.
